Duncan Brown is Head of Marketing at The BEE Institute. He has a BCom in Business Management and a background in finance and education; he has been involved in the black economic empowerment (BEE) industry since 2007. His BEE experience includes strategic BEE consulting, verification assistance to businesses of all sizes, and Enterprise Development programme development, feasibility studies and implementation. Duncan is a regular speaker around the topic of Black Economic Empowerment and focuses specifically on the potential economic impact and sustainability of BEE programmes. He has been involved in changing the mindsets of many people throughout corporate South Africa.

Andrew Fulton is co-owner of the Database side of Eighty20. The Eighty20 Databases Consumer Information Portal provides online access to up-to-date statistics on the South African consumer market. Andrew obtained his BA in International Relations awarded with distinction in 1994 from the University of Toronto in Canada, where he received a number of scholarships and awards relating to academic performance. He completed the MBA programme at the Graduate School of Business (UCT) in 2000 and has spent the years since then with two companies in an operational role with a strong marketing component. Immediately following his degree, he ran a flower import/export company with clients in the United States, UK, Holland and Japan. After that, Andrew joined POP Communications, a media owner that is an independent subsidiary of Old Mutual Properties. In this role he was responsible for project managing the roll out of several new advertising ideas and products.

Dionne Kerr is the Chair of the National Association of BEE Constultants (NABC) and the CEO of Siyakha Consulting, a management consulting firm focusing on providing solutions to the private and public sectors in performance, productivity and people management. She has advised companies on issues around BEE, human resources and organisational development for the past 10 years. Dionne has spoken conferences on BEE and transformation and has developed BEE strategies for South African and global companies across several industries. She has engaged with a number of trade missions from all over the world on issues around investment in South Africa. Dionne is actively involved in entrepreneurial development, community development, job creation, disability support programmes and youth support. She is a past recipient of the DIVA Africa award for her involvement in SMME development. She is a lead advisor to UKTI, presents widely on BEE for both inward and outward-bound trade missions and is the chairperson of the National Association of BEE Consultants.

Kganki Matabane is currently Executive Director � Transformation Policy at Business Unity South Africa (Busa), responsible for monitoring transformation in South Africa as well as Internal Operations. He was previously the Financial Director at the Black Management Forum (BMF). His academic qualifications include a National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting from Wits Technikon, a B-Tech in Cost and Management Accounting from Technikon SA (now UNISA), a Certificate in Financial Analysis from the Wits Business School, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (Gibs). He has attended a programme on Strengthening Employers� Organisations from Nippon-Keindanren International Cooperation Center (Japan). Kganki is a Practising Member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants. He is also a founder and director of Broad Based BEE Haven Investments.

Leila Moonda has a B.Comm Financial Management from Unisa, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from UCT and is an MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer). She has worked extensively within the South African Corporate environment in such diverse fields as quality management, business process re-engineering and programming. Leila is one of the founders of the BEE Institute and is a current executive member of the National Association of BEE Consultants. Prior to joining the BEE Institute, she was a Senior Consultant at BEESA Consulting. Leila has assisted companies with their BEE scorecards, strategies and implementation. Before that Leila was the Transformation Manager at SAIA, responsible for the BEE strategy and implementation for industry BEE initiatives. Leila also served on the Business Unity South Africa�s Transformation Policy Committee as a representative for SAIA.

Jan Munnik is regarded as one of the leading experts in EE Transformation in South Africa. He is the Managing Director of EES-SIYAKHA and facilitated the development of The EES Process and Manual, which set an industry standard for the successful implementation of EE Transformation. EES-SIYAKHA has subsequently developed the most comprehensive EE Transformation process in the market, which not only ensures Top Management leadership, but also the implementation of �best HR Practices�, and effective change management. Jan has delivered papers at numerous conferences on EE and BEE. He consults to a number of prominent organisations and Government institutions. Jan also specialises in BEE strategy development, which he has facilitated for numerous clients in the private sector.

Patrick Muthui, an accountant by profession, is the current CEO of Virtual Services at RMB Private Bank. He was previously CEO of FNB Retail Direct Channels, a successful business which he founded as a Greenfield�s operation. Pat was charged with the task of designing and institutionalising coherent systems and business processes, to cultivate and optimise segment-based customer relationship opportunities. These all vest within the Direct and virtual relationship environments, within the consumer Bank. Before taking up this challenge, he was head of Strategic projects at FNB, charged with the task of designing and implementing credit management practices that would achieve the desired efficiency and effectiveness, as well as comply with legislation. In addition to chairing and participation in various internal boards and committees at RMB, he is also the Chairman and active member of the
Direct Marketing Association of South Africa.

Israel Noko joined BEESA Group as Executive Director in September 2009 as part of a strategic move to position Sustainable BEE as a best practice to companies, multinationals and NGOs in South Africa. Israel�s experience has focused on developing and executing strategies that would enable companies to position themselves better in the market, and develop partnerships with companies and organizations that want to address enterprise development and preferential procurement. Israel has worked at the United Nations, the Canadian High Commission Trade Office in South Africa, Enablis and in the financial services industry. He studied Law and Social Sciences at the University of Warwick, UK and completed a LLB at Coventry University, UK. In his other capacity, Israel is a Fellow member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa and sits on the Executive Committee of the South Africa-Canada Chamber of Business (SACCB), which aims to promote and develop business links between South Africa and Canada.

Chris van Wyk is the Chairman of the Association of BEE Verification Agencies (ABVA) and the CEO of AQRate (Pty) Ltd. Chris completed his B.Com (Law), LLB and LLM (Cum Laude) at the University of Stellenbosch and is a qualified Attorney. AQRate was one of the founding Members of the Association of BEE Verification Agencies (ABVA). AQRate is currently the only verification agency with accreditation in more than one place in South Africa, with offices in Gauteng, Western Cape, KZN and Limpopo. He is currently also an Executive Member of ABVA�s Board, in charge of the Technical Portfolio. As such, he is tasked with representing the Verification Industry with interpretational issues pertaining to the B-BBEE Act and Codes, at the �Joint Technical Committee� of the Department of Trade and Industry and ABVA.

Terence Chetty is the Customer Marketing Manager, Developing and Emerging Markets, Unilever. He works with customers or within channels, in order to develop appropriate assortments, shelf-layouts, promotional strategies and price positions, based on shopper, customer and channel insights.

Janine Rothwell launched her own company in 2000, consulting mainly for large organisations, helping them to entrench transformation and business optimisation programmes internally. In 2004 Janine Rothwell and Peter Hofmann established a private company MFX Options and Solutions that provides strategic and operational management consulting. Janine�s enthusiasm for her fields of interest makes her a popular trainer, a side interest she has built into a successful career niche over the past eleven years. She has developed and trained for Square One (compiling internet-based training modules on sales, marketing, teams, communication and management), the Institute of International Research (developing material and lecturing on marketing strategy, public relations, web-marketing, strategic internal communication). In addition, she has lectured for General Electric (USA) on strategy, marketing, sales and e-commerce. Janine holds an MBA from Henley/Brunell University, UK.

Viviene Pearson is the General Manager for Sustainability at the South African Insurance Association (SAIA). Her area of responsibility includes sustainability and environmental issues, the sustainability of motor insurance, image and reputation of the industry, consumer education, and micro-insurance. Viviene previously managed the Motor Insurance Portfolio of the South African Insurance Association. As the Manager for Image and Reputation, she was responsible for managing the relationships with the media, government, insurance industry bodies and other stakeholders, as well as members. She was also responsible for several industry initiatives, including micro- insurance and consumer education, the fight against crime and establishing the South African Insurance Crime Bureau, the SAIA Code of Good Business Practice, and other relevant issues. Prior to this, she was a financial journalist specializing in the insurance field. She started her career in the Diplomatic Corps after obtaining a BA Honors� degree in Political Science and Journalism at RAU IN 1982.
