Axiz reaches Level 2 B-BBEE status based on the new ICT Sector Code

IT-ONLINE / 27 OCTOBER - 05.36 / STAFF REPORTER

Axiz is proud to announce that it has achieved a Level 2 B-BBEE rating applying the amended ICT Sector Code.

“We constantly work to build our ecosystem, so we are very excited to have obtained this rating because it adds value to our ecosystem,” said Craig Brunsden, MD of Axiz.

“It’s not always just about profit or the technology we sell, it’s about good business practices and proving that we are continuously working towards cultivating a sustainable organisation.

”A lot of investment and hard work has gone into the successful execution of the company’s transformation strategy.

“The new ICT Sector Code came into effect last year and due to proper planning and in a short space of time the company managed to achieve this rating,” said Robert Nkuna, Human Capital Director at Axiz.

The new B-BBEE certificate was issued on the 11th September 2017 and will remain valid until the 10th September 2018.

The new rating includes the following criteria:

- 51% Black Ownership

- 42% Black Woman Ownership

- 125% Procurement Recognition Level

- Black Designated Group Supplier

”It is important to understand that, as a country, we have a social contract to ensure that the imbalances of the past are addressed and that we do whatever is necessary to ensure that transformation takes place in our own space”.

Axiz has embarked on many programmes over the last two years to ensure that inclusive growth takes place and that the company possesses the right skills to ensure its competitiveness in the global economy.

Axiz recognises that partners, vendors and staff alike make up its corporate ecosystem and according to Nkuna the new rating is key to adding to Axiz’s competitiveness and, consequently, that of its partners.

Axiz’s partners will gain recognition at the right level in terms of BEE when they compete in the market.
