ZCCI to host SMME seminar and exhibition

This year, founder and Group CEO of Icebolethu Group, Nomfundo Mcoyi will be the keynote speaker
DEPUTY Minister of Small Business Development, Cassel Mathale will address the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (ZCCI) annual Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprise (SMME) seminar and exhibition to be held in Richards Bay on Monday, 10 September at 8am.
Taking place at the Kingfisher Hall at ZCBF, the 2018 seminar will be hosted under the theme
‘Building small businesses to business empires’.
Entrepreneurs will experience a programme that will aid in building capacity in all cycles of their entrepreneurial journey from idea, startup to becoming established and major market players.
SMMEs will also receive information from institutions that aid in the development of small businesses including incubators, financial institutions and development banks.
The aim of the ZCCI SMME seminars is to provide capacity building workshops, information sharing sessions, access to markets, access to finance as well as an excellent platform for networking for emerging and established entrepreneurs.

Mcoyi who started a funeral parlour business with only five employees in 2009 has since expanded to 65 branches in the country and Zimbabwe and has presence in London.
Her business, which employs 500 people, has become a one-stop funeral service shop, offering tombstone services, event catering, floral bouquets and funeral policies.
She is the first female chairperson of the SA Funeral Practitioners’ Association in KZN.
Among many accolades, she received the Business Partner Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2017 and a Lioness of Africa category award at this year’s African Women award ceremony held in London.
The 2018 seminar will also feature guest speaker Erick Tocknel, the founder of Wimpy Restaurants Group which includes stores such as Golden Egg, Whistle Stop, Juicy Lucy and Milky Lane, who will share parts of his journey to success.
