Sabha launches Hindu Enterprise Development Corporation

Fundamentally, the HEDC will ensure that Hindus will become economically empowered.

At a glittering gala dinner event at the Durban City Hall attended by more than 500 people on Saturday, president of the South African Hindu Dharma Sabha, Ram Maharaj launched one of the biggest economic expansions of the Hindu community.

Officials of the South African Hindu Dharma Sabha together with special guests and dignitaries at the launch of the Hindu Enterprise Development Corporation.

Maharaj said, “One of the priorities and vision of the newly established Hindu Enterprise Development Corporation (HEDC) is to develop a prosperous and progressive Hindu community.”

Fundamentally, the HEDC will ensure that Hindus will become economically empowered.

“We want the poor to become rich. The HEDC is offering every Hindu the golden opportunity to become a proud part of this historic practical demonstration of self-belief, self esteem and self-determination. Shares are being sold at only R500 ,00 each. Clearly, the more you put the more you will get. HEDC dares to dream big, work hard and smart and act swiftly and surely,” he added.

The performance-driven HEDC is deeply rooted at grassroots, broad-based, efficient and effective national strategy.

Several prominent individuals received awards for the meritorious contribution in the community.

Furthermore, the HEDC has become a catalyst for an epoch- making outreach and networking strategy of international magnitude.

The HEDC was established by the South African Hindu Dharma Sabha to benefit all Hindus.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from the profit-generating enterprises will go towards the sabha’s noble ‘Feed the Hungry’ project as well as assisting temples and Tamil, Telegu, Hindi and Gujarati speaking groups in financial distress.

In his welcoming address, Maharaj also expressed his gratitude to all sponsors and well-wishers for the enormous contribution in cash and kind. He also wished all guests a happy and safe Deepavali.

The event was interspersed with cultural dances, devotional songs and speeches.

The guest of honour, Vivian Reddy said Hindus should unite and speak with one voice. He said we cannot ignore the invaluable contribution made by the Indian community in all spheres of life.

Several prominent individuals received awards for the meritorious contribution in the community.

The function concluded with a sumptuous dinner.

All attendees received a souvenir brochure of the South African Hindu Dharma Sabha.
