DURBAN - The Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds forums for businesses in various sectors.

 

The forums are presented by industry experts and innovators which makes the content highly relevant and topical.

Attendance to the forums is free and is open to all businesses. However, business people do have to reserve their seats to be able to participate.

 

Below is a list of forums, for relevant dates please check link below:

 

Durban Port Committee:

 

To provide a forum for all stakeholders in the port to meet on a monthly basis to share activity reports.

 

Economic Affairs Forum:

 

To build a deeper understanding of issues of economic planning in the province and eThekwini Municipality which affect our members.

 

Environmental Forum:

 

To provide information and facilitate learning on environmental legislation which affects our members.

 

HR Forum:

 

To enable the Forum to formulate position papers, comments and recommended policies in respect of human resources, labour affairs and social policy matters.

 

Infrastructure Forum:

 

To develop and maintain an understanding of significant development projects and initiatives in the greater Durban area, and their associated timelines and implications for business.

 

Safety and Justice Forum:

 

To develop a deeper understanding of issues of safety and justice as they impact on our members, in order to take a policy position and build the necessary liaison structure

 

SMME Forum:

 

To foster a closer working relationship with SMME stakeholders at a local, regional and national level.

 

Tourism Forum:

 

To promote tourism as a key economic driver of the province and eThekwini Municipality.

 

Trade and Investment Forum:

 

To promote Durban as an effective trading hub

 

Women in Business Forum

 

To proactively remain abreast of the socio-economic needs of women.

 

Health Professionals Forum:

 

Promoting business opportunities via networking, education and communication.

 

AD HOC Forums

 

Manufacturing Forum:

 

The forum has the objective of calling together all local manufacturers within the membership.
