When you complete a form on our website, we collect the following personal information:

• First name and surname• Email address

• Phone Number

• Job title or position

• Company name

• Company size and turnover band (selected from a pre-defined dropdown -- no exact

figures are recorded)

• Engagement history relating to your interactions with BEEChamber communications and

resources

 

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined in POPIA through our website forms.

In addition to information you actively provide, our website and integrated tools may

automatically collect certain technical data when you visit our site, including your IP address and

browsing behaviour. This data is used for website analytics and retargeting purposes -- see

section 5 below.

We collect personal information through the following means:

• Contact forms, enquiry forms, and registration forms on our website

• Registration for the BEEChamber members area, where additional tools and resources

are available

• Free event registrations submitted via beesa.co.za -- BEEChamber's associated platform

check sheets, white papers, and our magazine

• Cookies and tracking technologies placed on your device when you visit the site (see

• Microsoft Clarity -- session recording and behavioural analytics (United States)

• Facebook/Meta -- advertising and interaction tracking (United States)

• Apollo.io -- lead intelligence and visitor identification (United States)

• Google Workspace -- used for internal data processing, sorting, and preparation of

contact and engagement data to support team outreach activities (United States)All third-party processors listed above store and process data in the United States of America.

 

Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to

ensure that appropriate protections are in place, consistent with the requirements of POPIA.

8. Members Area

Our website includes a members area where registered users can access free tools and

resources beyond those available to general website visitors. Registration for the members area

requires submission of personal information as described in section 3 above. BEEChamber will

not share your details with third parties. Payment for membership is processed externally -- no

payment or card information is collected or stored through this website.

 

9. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the personal information collected through our website for the following purposes:

11. How Long We Keep Your Information

• Contact and lead data in Salesforce is retained for the duration of your relationship with

BEEChamber and for a reasonable period thereafter

• Marketing contact data in Mailchimp is retained until you unsubscribe or request removal

• Website analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics and Microsoft

Clarity retention settings

 

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time -- see section 13 below.

 

12. Your Rights Under POPIA

As a data subject under POPIA, you have the following rights:• The right to be notified that your personal information is being collected and how it will be

submit a request, email mariana@bee.co.za with the subject line "Request to be Forgotten" and

include your full name and email address.

 

We will confirm receipt and process your request within a reasonable period. In some cases we

may be required by law to retain certain records, in which case we will inform you accordingly.

 

14. Marketing Communications and Opt-Out

When you submit any form, download any resource, or register for any event through our website

or associated platforms, you acknowledge that BEEChamber will not share your details with third

parties and that you may receive relevant updates and communications from us. This applies to

all website interactions including contact forms, tool downloads, magazine requests, calculator
