On 23 July 2024, Gazette 50967, the Public Procurement Act of 2024 was gazetted.
The Act seeks:
To regulate Public Procurement; and
To prescribe a Framework within which Preferential Procurement must be implemented.
Furthermore, the Act will focus on:
A high standard of Professional Ethics;
Efficient, Economic and Effective use of resources; and
Development-oriented, Accountability and Transparency.
