The B-BBEE Scorecard prohibits organizations from claiming the same spend under multiple elements. For example, if a Y.E.S employee's salary is claimed under Employment Equity, it cannot be reused for Skills Development. While training expenses for Y.E.S employees can be claimed, they must align with the Skills Development Learning Programme Matrix as per the B-BBEE Code of Good Practice. Organizations are advised to seek Technical Support Services for assistance with B-BBEE claims.

In certain areas of the B-BBEE Scorecard, once a B-BBEE claim has been made under one element, the same spend must not form part of another claim in another element. For example, if an organisation claims the headcount of a Y.E.S Employee, under no circumstances can that spend for a Salary be recycled and then claimed under Skills Development.

Although an organisation can claim training for a Y.E.S Employee, this needs to then align to the Skills Development Learning Programme Matrix as per a B-BBEE Code of Good Practice.

Technical Support Services are available to advise Members on B-BBEE Claims.
